Lake Forest, IL -- The Beloit College Women's Basketball team fell behind midway through the first half and never got back in it as they lost at Lake Forest College 74-44 on Saturday afternoon.
Beloit built a seven-point lead in the first eight minutes of the game, leading 15-8 at the 12:26 mark. But LFC went on a game-changing 18-0 run over the next nine minutes and never looked back. The Foresters led 32-20 at the break.
The Bucs got as close as 13 at 38-25 just under five minutes into the second half but Lake Forest put together another big run - 19-6 over eight minutes - to put the game away. The final score was the largest deficit of the contest.
Kirsten Acosta led the way with nine points while Sarah Stariha and Amanda Moore each had eight.
The Buccaneers have a week to shake off the loss before returning to action next Saturday when they host St. Norbert College on Hall of Honor Day at Flood Arena. Tipoff is at 4:00 p.m.
