Sheboygan, WI -- The Beloit College Women's Basketball fell behind by a large margin and, despite a good run, couldn't make it up as they fell at Lakeland College 59-41.
The Muskies scored 12 of the games first 13 points to take the lead from the opening tip. Beloit pulled to within eight at 16-8 with 11:25 left but Lakeland responded and pushed their lead as high as 16 at the half, 30-14.
LC kept increasing their lead in the second half, going up by 21 at 43-22 at the 14:33 mark. But the Bucs put together an 11-0 run over the next four minutes, fueled by five points from Mackenzie Hilliard and four from from Sarah Stariha, to pull within ten at 43-33 with 9:58 left.
Lakeland regained control with a 13-3 run to push their lead back to 20 with 4:31 remaining at 56-36.
Stariha and Amanda Moore led the Buccaneers with ten points apiece.
The Bucs will try to shake their three-game slump on Saturday when they return to Midwest Conference play against Carroll University at 2:00 p.m. in Flood Arena.
