Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Volleyball team made a run in the third set but dropped a Midwest Conference match to Lake Forest College 3-0 on Thursday night in Flood Arena.
Lake Forest took the match 25-13, 25-18, 27-25.
In the opening set the Foresters went on a 12-4 run to turn an 8-6 lead into a 20-10 advantage. In the second set Beloit was within 14-13 midway through but a quick 6-0 spurt by LFC settled things. The Bucs never got closer than five after the Lake Forest run.
In the final set, the Buccaneers trailed 16-10 before going on an 11-5 run to pull within 22-21. They finally tied the match at 25-all but the Foresters scored the final two points for the win.
Megan Slavish and Rachel Skoza each had eight kills for the Bucs while Emma Kozera added seven. Carolyn Stransky had 28 assists. McKenzie Falker led the defense with eight digs. Slavish had seven.
The Buccaneers have a day to regroup before hosting Knox College on Saturday in Flood Arena. Action begins at 1:00 p.m.
