Monmouth, IL -- The Beloit College Volleyball team fell to Monmouth College 3-0 on Friday night in Monmouth, Illinois, in a Midwest Conference match.
The Fighting Scots won the match with set scores of 25-21, 14-25, 25-20.
In the opening set, an early four-point run by MC turned a 9-9 tie into a 13-9 lead and the Bucs never got closer than three the rest of the way.
In the second set, Monmouth had a six-point run early and never let up.
In the third and final set, the Pioneers scored nine of the final 13 points to break away from a 16-all tie.
Megan Slavish had nine kills to lead the Buccaneer attack. Rachel Skoza and McKenzie Falker each had seven. Carolyn Stransky had 23 assists.
Falker led the defense with 19 digs while Amani Edwards had 11. Julianne Gruenhagen had ten digs. Slavish, in addition to her team-leading kills, added four service aces and ten digs.
The Bucs continue their MWC road trip Saturday when they play at Illinois College in Jacksonville, Illinois. Action begins at 1:00 p.m. and can be seen on MWCTV.
