Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Volleyball team dropped a pair of non-conference matches on Saturday in Flood Arena, falling to UW-Stevens Point 3-2 and UW-Stout 3-1. It was Family and Alumni Day for the program with a good contingent of alums returning for the Alumni Match which followed the two regular matches.
Against UW-Stevens Point, the Bucs were in a deep 0-2 hole, dropping the first two sets by identical 25-20 scores, heading into the third set but rebounded to even the match with 25-16, 25-20 wins in the third and fourth set. UWSP eked out the win with a 15-12 decision in the fifth and deciding set.
Mary Parker had 16 kills and Laura Toth 15 while Caitlin O'Leary had 38 assists. Parker led a trio of Bucs with 29 digs, followed by Margo Regier with 26 and McKenzie Falker with 25. Toth added three block assists.
In the match against UW-Stout, the Buccaneers grabbed the opening set 25-15 before UWST took the last three 25-20, 25-21, 25-21.
Parker finished with 21 kills and Toth 13. O'Leary had 41 assists. Parker added 31 digs and Regier 22. Toth had five blocks, one solo, a Parker four block assists.
Beloit returns to Midwest Conference play on Wednesday night for the home finale, hosting Ripon College for Senior Night and Playing for the Cause Night. First serve is at 7:00 p.m.
