Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Volleyball team, especially the coaching staff, knew that the squad was running short on time to turn their season around. They took a big step on Wednesday night in Flood Arena with a 3-1 Midwest Conference win over Carroll University.
The Bucs took the match 15-25, 25-22, 25-14, 25-23.
After falling in the opening set with only seven kills the Buccaneers battled back for a close set two win. They dominated set #3 and then came from behind in set four to take the match.
Mary Parker had 14 kills while Laura Toth had 12. Caitlin O'Leary recorded 32 assists while Parker had 21 digs and Margo Regier 20. A big blocking night for Beloit had the team finishing with 13.0 blocks, led by Emma Kozera, Leah Kruckman and Toth with six each.
The Buccaneers step away from MWC play this weekend when they travel to Albion, Michigan, to face host Albion College and St. Mary's College of Indiana in a triangular. The Bucs take on St. Mary's at 12:00 noon Central before playing the host school. They return to MWC play next Wednesday at Grinnell College.
