Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Volleyball team got off to a good start but couldn't sustain it as they dropped a non-conference match to UW-Platteville in Flood Arena on Tuesday night 3-1.
The Buccaneers won the first set 25-19 but then saw the Pioneers rally to win the second set 27-25 and then secure the match with 25-21 and 25-19 wins in the last two sets.
Mary Parker had 16 kills to lead the attack for Beloit. She also added two service aces and 32 digs.
Laura Toth had 10 kills and a .310 hitting percentage and added six blocks, five assisted, and two aces. Caitlin O'Leary had 39 set assists and Emma Kozera had four blocks, three solo, to go with four kills. Esther Chiu added 30 digs.
The Bucs stay at home this week, kicking off Homecoming Weekend with a non-conference triangular on Friday in Flood Arena. They play Wheaton College at 4:00 p.m. and then take on Judson University at 8:00.
