Women, Men Both Go 7-2 at Chicago Duals

Chicago, IL -- The Beloit College Indoor Track & Field team had a good day at the University of Chicago Duals on Saturday, with both the Women and Men going 7-2.

Both teams defeated Elmhurst College, Illinois Tech, Illinois-Chicago, Loyola, North Park, Robert Morris and Roosevelt while falling to the host school and St. Ambrose.

Five Bucs' recorded third-place finishes to lead the individual performances - Matt McKay in the 55m Hurdles; Kenny Williams in the High Jump; Lauren Hall in the 5000m; Amani Edwards in the Shot Put; and Elizabeth Peckham, who tied for third in the Pole Vault.

Other top-eight finishers for the Women were Anna Wenzel, fourth in the Mile; Karen Jones, eighth in the 3000m; Geneva Schulz-Welo, sixth in the 5000m; and Edwards, sixth in the Weight Throw.

The Women's Distance Medley relay team of Hall, Julianne Gruenhagen, Camilla Jackson and Schulz-Welo were fifth.

For the Men, other top-eight finishers were Mat Kahl, fifth in the Long Jump; Ken Andejeski, fourth in the Triple Jump; and Myles Schneider, sixth in the Shot Put.

The Men's 4x400m Relay of Aaron Joiner, Williams, Peter Siess and Kahl were fifth while the Distance Medley foursome of Ethan Ley, Joiner, Quinn Crawford and McKay were sixth.

The Buccaneers head for Stevens Point next Saturday for the Pointer Invite.  Action begins at 10:00 a.m.
