How did you find out about Beloit? Did you know a lot about Beloit when you first visited campus?

“I found out about Beloit through my Latin teacher who visited when she was looking at colleges. Even though she did not attend Beloit, it was her first choice. She wanted me to come here because it had my interests as well as great opportunities for continuing my education. I knew nothing about Beloit before I applied; my mom actually looked up the college.”

We are focusing a lot on Liberal Arts in Practice at Beloit; so as part of what you practice(d) name one aspect that you took away(will take) from being a Beloit student-athlete that you use in your everyday life.

“Discipline: Being a student-athlete requires a lot of discipline in time management, training, staying alert, and staying on top of your studies and athletics requires a lot of discipline to balance and achieve.”

What (if any) accolades did you receive (Academically/Athletically) while being a student-athlete?

“I have been on the Academic All-Conference teams for Volleyball and Track since my sophomore year, I have made the Dean’s List, I have received international grants (Gilman and Beloit College grants), and I am a McNair scholar.”

If you could name one class or professor (mentor) that really meant something to you while at Beloit, who or what would that be?

“Professor Majeed and Rachel Ellett, Even though I’ve only taken two classes with Prof. Majeed throughout my time here, she has been a great supporter of my efforts and is always willing to talk. Rachel Ellett has also kept me in the loop for opportunities that arise and has also helped me through applications and research projects. Despite mentioning these two professors, everyone on campus has had a great influence on my experience here and has also helped me through the four years here.”

Name one of the most rewarding experiences you took part in while at Beloit College?

“Being in athletics and being a McNair scholar have been two of the most rewarding experiences. The opportunities that have been introduced to me through participating in these programs are not only going to help in the short term, but in the long term as well.”

Where do you see yourself 5 years from now? - Name a career goal/aspiration you strive for.

“In five years I plan to either be abroad, or in a grad program receiving my Masters of PH.D in social work or public policy.”

“In ONE word I would sum up Beloit College as- Awesome.”
