Moen, Edwards, Towns Earn All-MWC Honors on First Day of MWC Outdoors

Jacksonville, IL -- The Beloit College Track & Field squad had three members earn All-Midwest Conference honors on the first day of the 2010 MWC Outdoor Track & Field Championships, being hosted by Illinois College.

Erika Moen finished second in the Discus for the highest Buccaneer finish, tossing the disc 123'7. Amani Edwards was third in the Hammer Throw with an effort of 145'1 and Travis Towns was third in the Javelin with a toss of 180'9.

The top three finishers in each event earn All-MWC honors.

Also scoring points for the Women were Edwards, seventh in the Discus; Elizabeth Peckham, eighth in the Pole Vault; and Geneva Schulz-Welo, eighth in the 10000m.

Also scoring on the Men's side was Matt Floyd, sixth in the Pole Vault.

The Women were fifth and the Men seventh in the team standings after the opening day.

The second and final day of the Meet gets underway at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday morning.
