Davendonis Wins 800m; Women 4th, Men 9th at MWC Indoors

Galesburg, IL -- Josh Davendonis won the Conference Championship in the 800m to pace the Beloit College Indoor Track & Field team as the Midwest Conference Indoor Championships concluded at Knox College on Saturday.

The Buccaneer Women finished fourth in the meet while the Men were ninth. Monmouth College won both the Men's and Women's team championships.

Davendonis sped around the T. Fleming Fieldhouse track in 1:57.74, less than .50 away from the Beloit record. He won the event by nearly a second over his nearest competitor from Ripon.

The Men's 4x400m Relay finished fourth and the Distance Medley Relay 8th for the other Men's points.

Tanishka Armbrister had a busy day to lead the Women's squad, finishing fourth in three events and sixth in another. Her fourth's came in the 55m, 200m and Triple Jump while her sixth was in the 400m.

Also scoring points for the Women were Kate Finman, seventh in the Pole Vault and Amani Edwards, sixth in the Weight Throw. The 4x400m Relay team finished fourth while the Distance Medley Relay was fifth.

The Bucs now shift their attention to the Outdoor part of their season, with training for a week in Jacksonville, Florida, before competing in the University of North Florida Spring Break Invite next Friday and Saturday.
