Moss Sets 2nd Record; Women 6th, Men 7th as MWC Championships Conclude

Buccaneer Swimming & DivingGrinnell, IA -- The Beloit College Swimming & Diving team finished up their 2013-14 season on Sunday at the final day of the Midwest Conference Championships.  The Buccaneer Women ended in sixth place while the Men were seventh.

Shaunte Moss set her second record of the meet, swimming a 2:32.03 in the 200 Breast in the Sunday morning prelims to break Grace Hall's record from 2005.  She finished eighth in the finals on Sunday night.

The Bucs ended the meet with five new school records, two set on both Friday and Saturday and Moss' on Sunday.

Also earning individual points for the Buccaneers on Sunday were Dana Olesch, sixth in the 200 Fly; Amalia Dolan, ninth in the 1650 Free; Hannah Devereaux, 11th in the 1650 Free; Will McAneny, 12th in the 100 Free; Charlie Hawks, 15th in the 200 Back; Austin Smith, 15th in the 100 Free; Laurel Marshall, 15th in the 200 Breast; and John Kamada, 16th in the 200 Breast.

Both the Women's and Men's 400 Free Relay finished seventh.  For the Women the foursome was Moss, Haleigh Thomas, Olesch and Nora Holte and for the Men McAneny, Arthur Staub, Kamada and Smith.

Seniors Holte, Marshall, Kamada and Staub had their final swims for Beloit College Sunday.
