Dubuque, IA/Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Swimming & Diving team had a busy weekend, competing in dual meets at Loras College on Friday night and against UW-Oshkosh in Kresge Natatorium on Saturday afternoon.
The Buccaneer Women fell at Loras 120-80 and to UW-Oshkosh 103-70 while the Men lost at Loras 118-82 and to UWO 100-77.
On Saturday, Will McAneny had a pair of victories, taking the 50 and 100 Free for the second straight meet, to lead the way. Other firsts were turned in by Greg Schalla in the 200 Free, John Kamada in the 200 IM, Dana Olesch in the 100 Fly, and Laurel Marshall in the 100 Breast. The Women's 200 Medley Relay of Madeline Krass, Shaunte Moss, Olesch and Haleigh Thomas also took first, as did both the Women's and Men's 200 Free Relay squads. The Women's 200 Free was made up of Sara Pyle, Emily Canny, Krass and Cherrelle Phon while the Men's was McAneny, Austin Smith, Kamada and Schalla.
On Friday in Dubuque, a big moment came when Anna Freyfogle and Ricky Cotter made their Diving debuts for the Bucs, Freyfogle winning the 1m.
McAneny won the 50 and 100 Free while Kamada was also a double winner in the 200 IM and 100 Breast. Also scoring a win was Marshall in the 100 Back.
Beloit has a week to recover before traveling to Kenosha next Saturday for the Wisconsin Private Schools Meet at Carthage College. Action begins at 1:00 p.m.
