Buccaneers Open 11-12 Season at Lawrence

Appleton, WI -- The Beloit College Swimming & Diving team opened their 2011-12 season in a dual meet at Lawrence University on Saturday, with the Women falling 123-71 and the Men 119-45.

The Women got first-place finishes from Nora Holte in the 100 Free and Beth Remington in the 100 Breast.  Seconds were taken by Holte in the 200 Free, Emily Law in the 100 Back and Haleigh Thomas in the 50 Free.

Bringing home third-place finishes were Alicia Hoffman in the 100 Fly, Holte in the 100 Breast, Law in the 200 IM, Megan Mason in the 100 Free, Chale Turner in the 100 Back, and Hannah Richter in the 100 Fly.

For the Men, William McAneny won the 100 Free to lead the way while he also earned a second in the 50 Free.  Other seconds went to Greg Schalla in the 100 Fly and 200 IM and Ike Watson in the 200 Free and 500 Free.  Ricky Cotter took thirds in the 50 Free and 100 Free.

The Bucs continue their early-season action next Saturday when they travel to Waukesha for a dual meet at Carroll University.  Action begins at 1:00 p.m.
