Grinnell, IA -- The Beloit College Women's Swimming & Diving team sat sixth and the Men's team seventh at the conclusion of day one of the Midwest Conference Championships, being held at Grinnell College.
Kate Wolf provided the highlight of the day for Beloit, setting a school record in the 200 IM with a seventh-place finish in 2:20.73. She broke Kim Pernell's 2007 mark.
The Women's 200 Free Relay team of Nora Holte, Aria Walsh-Felz, Beth Remington and Connie Meltzer had the best finish of the day with a fifth.
The Women's 400 Medley Relay of Meltzer, Remington, Wolf and Holte was sixth. The Men's 200 Free Relay of Patrick Duvall, Gabe Saslow, Greg Schalla and Arthur Staub and the 400 Medley Relay of Duvall, Schalla, Sam Maynard and Staub were both seventh. Schalla was ninth in the 500 Free.
The meet continues on Saturday with Prelims at 10:00 a.m. and Finals at 5:30 p.m.
