Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Swimming & Diving team had a busy weekend, competing in a road dual on Friday night and the home opener on Saturday. The Buccaneer Women won both of their duals while the Men fell twice.
In Saturday's home opener at Kresge Natatorium, the Women defeated Ripon College 137-90 while the Men fell 132-94.
Kate Wolf posted a pair of victories to lead the Buccaneer Women, taking the 100 Breast and 400 IM. Also posting victories for the Women were Connie Meltzer in the 100 Back; Laurel Marshall in the 200 Breast and Aria Walsh-Felz in the 500 Free. The 400 Medley Relay team of Meltzer, Beth Remington, Wolf and Nora Holte also posted a win.
Patrick Duvall won three events to lead the Men, touching first in the 200 Fly, 100 Free and 400 IM. Greg Schalla won the 500 Free and the 400 Medley Relay squad of Duvall, Schalla, Sam Maynard and Arthur Staub also won.
Back on Friday night against Carroll University in Waukesha, the Women won 99-94 while the Men fell 102-89.
Wolf won both the 500 and 1650 Free while Walsh-Felz also posted a victory in the 50 Free. The 200 Free Relay team of Marshall, Megan Mason, Reminton and Walsh-Felz also won.
Duvall and Staub both posted a pair of event wins for the Men, Duvall taking the 200 Free and 100 Fly while Staub won the 100 and 500 Free.
The Buccaneers are now off until the weekend of December 3-4, when they compete in the Grinnell College Invite. Action begins at 6:00 p.m. on Friday the third and at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday the fourth.
