Buccaneer Men Win Meet, Women Second

Rockford, IL -- The Beloit College Swimming & Diving team had a good meet in their adopted home of Boylan High School in Rockford on Saturday, with the Men's squad scoring a win over Carroll College and Ripon College while the Women finished second behind Carroll.

The Bucs took the Men's meet with 82 points followed by Carroll with 57 and Ripon 43. For the Women, Carroll won with 97 followed by the Buccaneers with 51 and Ripon 40.

For the Men, Patrick Duval won the 200 Free and 200 Fly and swam the third leg of the winning 400 Medley Relay, which also included Gregory Schalla, Paden Debois and Joe Seidel.

Schalla also scored two wins plus leading off the first-place relay, taking the 400 IM and 500 Free.

Debois added a win in the 200 Breast and Seidel added a pair of seconds in the 50 and 100 Free.

For the Women, Marin Matchinske-Brehmer scored two victories, winning the 50 and 100 Free. Mandy Lee took second in the 50 Free, Emily Law was second in both the 400 IM and 200 Back and Jessie Panks was second in the 200 Breast.

The 400 Medley Relay of Kate Parsons, Panks, Law and Aria Walsh-Felz also took second.

The Buccaneers close out their home season next Friday night at Boylan, hosting Loras College in a dual meet. Action begins at 6:00 p.m.
