Tim Schmiechen became the head coach of the Buccaneer Men’s Soccer program prior to the 1990 season. During his 20-plus seasons he has guided the Buccaneers to over 170 wins overall and over 100 in MWC play. 13 of his 20 teams have qualified for the MWC Tournament and, in 2006, the team won their first MWC Championship in 32 years.
Schmiechen has earned five Midwest Conference Coach of the Year awards, the most recent in 2006, and has coached nine All-Midwest Region players during his tenure with the Buccaneers.
He graduated from Ohio Wesleyan in 1985 with a degree in physical education. After graduation, he earned his master’s degree in exercise science from the University of Massachusetts. While at Massachusetts, he was the assistant men’s coach for the NCAA Division I soccer program.
