[Bob Dignazio]Bob Dignazio enters his fourth year at Beloit in the fall of 2014. After recruiting 19 players from 10 different states for the College’s first-ever varsity men’s lacrosse team, Dignazio has piloted the Bucs to a combined 15-12 record in the program’s first two seasons, and leads the program into Midwest Lacrosse Conference competition in 2015. Beloit has finished in the top 25 in shooting percentage both years.
Coach Dignazio’s team finished its second season with a 9-6 record in 2014. Their win percentage ranked third among all Independents nationally. Beloit also ranked #4 in the nation in the least amount of turnover per games, as well as #24 in shooting percentage. The Bucs ended the season winning four of their final five games.
In the program’s inaugural campaign, Dignazio’s squad of 19 freshmen posted a 6-6 record. The Bucs played well on their brand-new turf field at historic Strong Stadium, going 4-1 at home. Beloit finished the 2013 season on a four-game win streak and ranked #18 nationally in shot percentage.
Dignazio came to Beloit from Kenyon College in Ohio, where he served as the Lords’ Defensive and Recruiting Coordinator during the 2010 and 2011 seasons. He also served one season as the Defensive Coordinator at Randolph-Macon College after graduating from Kenyon in 2008.
During his time as a coach at Kenyon, Dignazio led a USILA North-South All-Star and eight All-Conference players. At Randolph-Macon, he helped lead the Yellow Jackets to an appearance in the USILA Top 25, the ODAC Tournament, the program's first victory over a ranked team in a decade, and the top-rated upset in the nation, according to Laxpower.com. He also coached two All-ODAC players that season.
As a player at Kenyon, he was a two-time All-North Coast Athletic Conference defenseman and was a member of two teams who earned spots in the NCAA Division III Tournament. Dignazio started every game for three seasons and helped lead the team to a 33-10 record during that span. He earned Kenyon’s Bill Heiser Award at the end of his senior season for hard work, dedication and sportsmanship. A team captain during his senior year, Dignazio also led the team in ground balls as a junior and senior.
Dignazio has gained experience from working numerous camps, including the Peak 200, New England Top 150, Top 205, Tier 1, Texas 99, Adrenaline Showcase, Midwest 99, the Ohio State Buckeye Team Camp, Revolution Lacrosse Camp, the Pacific Showcase, and Game Breaker Lacrosse Camp.
A native of Wallingford, Pennsylvania, Dignazio graduated from Kenyon College in 2008 with his Bachelor of Arts in History. He earned his Master of Arts in Sport Humanities from Ohio State University in 2013. Dignazio is also a member of the Pi Lambda Theta national education honor association. He resides in Beloit.
