[Peggy Carl]Director of Athletics & Recreation
Peggy Carl has served as Beloit’s Director of Athletics and Recreation since the fall of 2008. After a very successful coaching career spanning a quarter-century, she came to Beloit from Occidental College in Los Angeles, California, and Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota.
A graduate of Whittier College in physical education with a master’s degree in kinesiology from the University of Minnesota, Carl also holds an M.B.A. from the University of California at Irvine. She is responsible for the administration and supervision of the intercollegiate and recreational programs at the college. The intercollegiate program includes 19 sports for men and women.
An active member of the swimming community, Carl served as the Logistics Coordinator for Swimming at the 1996 Summer Olympic Games held in Atlanta, Georgia, where she was responsible for elements of the aquatic venue and the training of staff. In July of 2004, she held a similar position as Field of Play Chair for the USA Olympic Swimming Team Trials in Long Beach, California. In March of 2008, she served as the Assistant Director of the NCAA Division III Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships in Oxford, Ohio and has been selected as a co-host for the 2010 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships at the University of Minnesota as well as the 2011 Championships to be held on the campus of the University of Tennessee.
