Waukesha, WI -- The Beloit College Softball team dropped a pair of Midwest Conference games at Carroll University Wednesday, falling 5-3 and 7-2.
In the opener Carroll jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the second inning before the Buccaneers cut the deficit in half when Praises Vega stole home.
CU re-established their two-run lead with a solo tally in the sixth but Beloit rallied for a pair of runs in the seventh when Katy Sandt singled in Kourtney Kingslien and Emily Dorjath to tie it up. Kingslien had walked and Dorjath doubled.
But the Pioneers ended the game in the bottom of the seventh with a two-out, walk-off two-run home run for the final score.
In the nightcap the Bucs took the lead in the first when Dorjath singled in McKenzie Falker, who had walked. But Carroll erased that lead with a five-run third and then added two more in the fourth to lead 7-1.
The Buccaneers closed out the scoring in the seventh when Falker squeezed in Lisa McClure, who had led off the inning with a double.
Vega and Dorjath both had two hits in the game.
Beloit stays on the road on Saturday with an MWC doubleheader at Lawrence University in Appleton. Game one begins at 1:00 p.m.
