Kissimmee, FL -- The Beloit College Softball team couldn't get their bats going till late in their second game on Monday.  But it came up short as they dropped a pair of games on the second day of their Spring Trip, falling 4-0 to Bluffton University of Ohio and 7-2 to Methodist University of North Carolina.

The first game against Bluffton was tight through the first five innings, with the Beavers scoring the game's only run in the fourth.  BU then broke it open in the sixth with three scores.

Meanwhile the Buccaneers couldn't get anything going at the plate and were held hitless unless Sarah Stariha singled in the sixth.  Kandace Fox got the second hit for Beloit in the seventh but was also stranded to end the game.

In game two the Monarchs scored twice in the first, three times in the second and once each in the third and fifth to lead 7-0.  Five Buccaneer errors helped Methodist, with only o of the seven runs earned.

Beloit finally got things going in the top of the sixth, putting together three hits to score their only runs of the day.  McKenzie Falker singled before Fox doubled to right field, moving Falker to third.  Kourtney Kingslien then singled to center to drive in both runs with one out.

The Bucs loaded the bases with one out in the seventh on two walks and a single by Praises Vega but were shut down with no scoring.

Beloit looks to turn things around on Tuesday when they play Presentation College of South Dakota at 9:00 a.m. and Thomas More College of Kentucky at 11:00.
