Beloit, WI – Beloit College has added Tami Magner to the position of assistant softball coach and marketing and promotions director for the Beloit College Athletic Department. Magner’s position is a two year grant sponsored position through the NCAA Division III Ethnic Minority and Women’s internship program.
Magner comes to Beloit from Western Illinois University where she earned her Master’s degree in Recreation, Park and Tourism in 2011. At Western she served as a graduate assistant coach the past two seasons for the Fighting Leathernecks softball team. In 2010, she helped guide the team to their second consecutive conference title as they posted a 35-19 record.
Prior to Western Illinois, Magner was an assistant coach for one year at her alma mater Luther College in Decorah, IA. A native of Wacon, IA and a 2008 graduate of Luther College, Magner earned a double major in Physical Education and Health with an emphasis in sports psychology and wellness. A four-year letter winner for the Norse, and a three year team captain, she was an NFCA Div. III All-American (2007, 2008), All-Midwest Region selection (2007, 2008), and All-Iowa Conference honoree (2007, 2008). Magner holds the Luther College career record for home runs (37).
