Ripon, WI – Sarah Stariha, a junior shortstop for Beloit College from LaSalle, Illinois (St. Bede Academy), has earned her second straight All-Midwest Conference North Division Softball First Team honor, the Conference Office announced today. The All-Conference Team is chosen by a vote of league coaches.
Stariha, who also played third base and catcher for the Buccaneers, led the team in nine different offensive categories while hitting .347 with a home run and six RBIs from her leadoff position. She also scored 26 runs and stole 13 bases.
In her three-season career she is hitting .352 with 95 hits, 70 runs scored, 18 doubles and 42 stolen bases. Her 42 stolen bases ties with Michele Preuss (1986-89) for the second-most all-time. She is the 48th Buccaneer to earn First-Team honors and the 11th to earn the accolades at least twice.
