Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Softball team saw their 2010 season come to an end on Tuesday with a pair of losses to the University of Chicago, falling 8-0 and 6-1.
In game one the Maroons scored twice in the first, once in the fourth and exploded for five runs in the seventh.
Meanwhile the Bucs got just two hits - by Sarah Stariha and Laura Byrne - both in the third inning.
In the second game Chicago took the lead with two in the second. They added a run in the fifth and finished with three in the seventh.
The Buccaneers got their lone run of the day in the seventh inning when Lisa McClure, who finished with two of Beloit's four hits in the game, scored on a wild pitch.
McKenzie Falker finished the two games with 24 putouts at first base to give her 260 for the season, breaking the single-season record of 250 set by Katelynn Rynders in 2005. Stariha fell one short of tying the all-time season hits record, finishing with 43 to tie Carrie Bieniek and Lauri Krull (both 1994) for the second-most all time.
Nicole Oddo is the lone senior on the 2010 squad.
