Kissimmee, FL -- The Beloit College Softball team battled to the end in each but dropped two games on Friday morning at the Rebel Spring Games, falling to Clarke College of Iowa 3-0 in the early game and York College of Pennsylvania 8-2 in the second game.

Against Clarke, the Crusaders scored twice in the bottom of the first and made those runs stand up. They tacked on another run in the sixth.

The Bucs continually got out of jams to keep the contest close but couldn't get the key hits when needed.

Sarah Stariha went 2-3 to lead the offense. Katy Sandt took the loss, striking out and walking four.

In the York game, the Spartans scored three times in the top of the first but Beloit got one run back in the bottom of the inning when McKenzie Falker drove home Sarah Stariha, who had doubled.

YC added another run in the second, three more in the third and a final tally in the fourth before the Buccaneers scored in the bottom of the sixth on Sandt's RBI single, bringing home Falker.

Stariha and Falker both had two hits in the game. Sandt came on in relief of Allegera Stanton in the third inning and gave up just four hits and an unearned run over four-plus innings.

The Bucs finish up their Spring trip on Saturday morning with two games, taking on Chatham University at 9:00 a.m. EST followed by their final game against Aurora University.
