Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Men's Lacrosse team suffered a tough 9-8 loss to Transylvania University in their return to Strong Stadium after an over two week absence on Monday night.
The Pioneers scored the first three goals of the game but Beloit rebounded with three straight - from Jacob Pritscher, Matt Kelly and Pritscher again - to lead 3-2 after one. Transylvania scored a pair of goals in the second period, sandwiched around Aidan Whinnery's score, to make it a 4-4 game at the half.
The Buccaneers made their move in the third period, scoring three straight goals. Kelly tallied with the man-up advantage less than a minute in followed by Whinnery's second score before Zach Carner made it 7-4 at the 9:10 mark. TU answered with two goals before the end of the period to make it a one-goal game entering the fourth. They tied it up at 7-all three-plus minutes into the final quarter but Pritscher's third goal of the game reclaimed the lead with 10:56 remaining. The Pioneers tied it again 50 seconds later and then scored what proved to be the game-winner with 3:18 remaining.
Trevor Kenahan faced 51 shots and made 14 saves in net for the Bucs.
Beloit now looks to its final home game on Saturday night at Strong when they host Illinois Wesleyan University at 7:00 p.m.
