Elmhurst, IL -- The Beloit College Men's Lacrosse team continued their strong drive to the end of their inaugural season on Saturday with a 17-4 win at Elmhurst College, their third straight victory.
The Buccaneers dominated the opening half while racing to a 9-0 lead at the break. Ryan Hazuka had two goals in the opening quarter while Jacob Pritscher and Liam O'Connor also scored. In the second period, Thomas Porkka scored twice, O'Connor added his second goal of the game and Xavier Ward and Aidan Whinnery also scored.
Pritscher and Hazuka made it 11-0 in the third quarter before the Bluejays got on the board. Whinnery and Hazuka answered EC's goal before Elmhurst scored back-to-back to close the third and move into the fourth period.
Whinnery scored three straight times in a 1:12 span to make it 16-3 before the Bluejays got their final goal with just under seven minutes left. Porkka then closed it out in the final minute for the final score.
Whinnery finished with five goals while Hazuka had four with two assists. Porkka added three scores and an assist. Jace Hodder got the win in goal with 13 saves while Jacob Mayer made two saves in relief.
Beloit closes out its first season on Wednesday night when they host Milwaukee School of Engineering at Strong Stadium. Faceoff is at 7:00 p.m.
