Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Men's Basketball team snapped an ill-timed three-game drought on Saturday afternoon in Flood Arena with an 89-65 win over Knox College.

The Buccaneers jumped out to an 18-9 lead seven minutes into the game before the Prairie Fire put together a 13-3 run over the next four minutes to take a 22-21 lead midway through the half.  The Bucs got the lead back in short order and then played the final seven minutes on a 17-8 run to lead 53-36 at the break.

An 8-2 Beloit run out of the lockerroom pushed their advantage to 61-38 in the first three minutes of the second half but an 11-4 KC run pulled them back to within 65-49 midway through the half.  Beloit responded with a 14-6 run which put them up 79-55 with 6:37 remaining before head coach Brian Vraney cleared the bench for the final five minutes.

The Buccaneers shot 59% from the field for the game, 59.5% in the first half and 58.3% in the second half.  They also had just eight turnovers for the game while dishing out 19 assists.

Tyler Butke had a game-high 20 points while James Lazarcik recorded his 12th double-double of the season on 18 points and 14 rebounds.  Steve McAfee, Jr. added 16 points and Chris Bremner 12.  Bremner, Lazarcik and Ahmad Shamsid-Deen all had four assists.

The Bucs face a key game on Tuesday night when they host Carroll University in the home finale for Senior Night.  Tipoff is at 7:30 p.m.
