Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Women's Soccer team nearly erased a three-goal, first half deficit but came up short in a 4-2 loss to Grinnell College at the Strong Complex Soccer Field on Saturday.
The Pioneers scored at 11:52, 37:59 and 43:54 of the opening half to lead 3-0 at the break. Caitlin Paterson started the comeback with a penalty kick score just over a minute into the second half. Erin Chambers then made it a one-goal deficit at 57:35, assisted by Kirsten Takaki. But GC held on and closed out the scoring at 77:30.
The Buccaneers continue Midwest Conference play on Wednesday night at Carroll University in Waukesha with a 6:00 p.m. match.
