The Beloit College Baseball team split their doubleheader with Ripon College on Sunday at The Ballpark at Strong Stadium, winning 11-7 before falling 7-2. But in the process the Bucs dropped their Midwest Conference-opening series 3 games to one.

The Women finished third and the Men fifth as the Beloit College Track & Field teams competed at the Carroll University Pioneer Invite in Waukesha on Saturday.

The Beloit College Softball team went 2-1 on the opening day of the 2010 Midwest Conference Softball Classic, being played at Dawson Park in Janesville.

Beloit defeated Monmouth College 2-1 in the opener, fell to Grinnell College 9-3 in their second game and then shut out Knox College 5-0 in the nightcap.

Andrew Heer, a senior designated hitter for the Beloit College Baseball team from Wheeling, Illinois, has been named the Midwest Conference Player of the Week for his play from March 29 thru April 4.

After a long break, the Beloit College Track & Field team finally got back out on the track, competing at the University of Chicago Ted Hayden Classic on Saturday.

Both teams finished third out of 11 competing teams.

SNC won game one 5-2 and game two 16-3.

The Beloit College Baseball team put together a nine-run eighth inning in game two of a doubleheader with Washington University of St. Louis on the way to a 14-6 win and a split. Wash U. held on to win game one 8-7.

The Beloit College Softball team rebounded from a tough opening-game loss to get a split of their doubleheader with Viterbo University on Wednesday afternoon, winning the second game 7-5. The Buccaneers had dropped the opener 2-1 in 10 innings.

The Beloit College Baseball team sent the month of March out like a lion on Wednesday afternoon with a sweep of Knox College, winning 13-5 and 14-2.

The Beloit College Softball team dropped a doubleheader at UW-Platteville on Tuesday night, falling 7-2 and 12-4.
