Fond du Lac, WI -- The Beloit College Men's Soccer team dropped their season opener at Marian University on Friday night 2-1 in overtime.
The Sabres scored just over two minutes into the second 10-minute overtime period for the win. Phillip Amsden had put Beloit on top with a penalty kick score at the 32:41 mark. That one-goal lead held until MU tied it up with under 15 minutes left in regulation, setting the stage for the game-winner at 102:07.
BJ Kiser made 13 saves in net for the Buccaneers, putting him at an even 300 saves in his career, which ties him with Chip Schumacher (2003-06) for third all-time.
The Bucs are now off until they play in the Concordia University Tournament next weekend, taking on the host school on September 6 at 2:30 p.m. and playing University of St. John's on Sunday, September 7, at 1:00 p.m.
