Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Women's Soccer team had to settle for a tie in the 2014 season opener against Wisconsin Lutheran College on Friday, going overtime in the 1-1 contest at the Strong Complex Soccer Field.
After a scoreless opening half WLC got on the board first at the 49:37 mark. But the Bucs evened it at 1-all 11 minutes later when Tegan Rock was in the right place and let go a blast for her first collegiate goal.
That was the extent of the scoring, though both teams had opportunities during the remaining 29-plus minutes of regulation and the two 10-minute overtime periods.
Alex Spirov made six saves in net for the Buccaneers.
Beloit has a day before hosting Lakeland College on Sunday afternoon at the Strong Complex. Action begins at 2:00 p.m.
