Buccaneer Women’s Basketball Ranks 10th in NCAA Division III on WBCA Academic Honor Roll

WBCA Academic Top 25 LogoAtlanta, GA – The 2013-14 Beloit College Women’s Basketball team ranked tenth in NCAA Division III on the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association Academic Top 25, the organization announced on Thursday.

The WBCA Academic Top 25 annually recognizes NCAA Division I, II and III; NAIA; and junior/community college women’s basketball teams across the nation that carry the highest combined grade point average (GPA) inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. The 2013-14 season is the 19th in which the WBCA has compiled the honor rolls.

The Bucs finished with a 3.541 GPA as the only Midwest Conference representative.  Among Wisconsin schools joining Beloit in the Top 25 were UW-Stevens Point at #3, Carthage College at #21 and UW-Oshkosh at #23.

The Buccaneers, under second-year head coach Jennifer McCormick, finished the season at 7-16 overall, 7-11 in the MWC.
