Carlson Earns MWC Performer of the Week Honors with Record-Setting Effort

Felicia Carlson-HeadshotGrinnell, IA -- Felicia Carlson, a senior sprinter for the Beloit College Women's Track & Field team from Beloit (Memorial) has been named the Midwest Conference Female Track & Field Performer of the Week for the week ending April 13.  The Conference Office announced the recognition today.

Carlson broke her own school records in winning both the 100m and 200m at the Benedictine University Eagle Invite last Saturday. She ran an MWC-bests with a :12.01 in the 100m and a :24.64 in the 200m. Her time in the 100m currently is second in the nation while her 200m time is fifth.

The honor is the second time during the 2014 Track & Field season Carlson has been recognized for record-setting runs.  She was also the Performer of the Week in Indoor Track & Field on January 28 when set set new standards in the 60m and 200m during the Indoor season.

The Buccaneers compete at the University of Dubuque Invite this Friday before hosting the Beloit Relays on April 25-26 at Karris Track & Field at Strong Stadium.
