Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Women's Lacrosse team never got things going on Tuesday at Strong Stadium, leading to a 15-4 non-conference loss to Otterbein University.
The Cardinals scored the first two goals of the game in less than four minutes until Libby Storrick cut the deficit in half, unassisted, to get Beloit on the board. But Otterbein answered with a five-goal run, all over a span of five minutes, that made it 7-1 with 13:48 left in the first half. Sara Fithian stopped the run with a free position score and then, after an OU score, Cate Rubin scored from the free position. But the Cardinals got their final goal of the half with 4:00 left to make it 9-3 at the break.
Otterbein continued their roll in the second half, scoring three goals in the first eight minutes before Fithian scored her second free position goal of the game at the 19:59 mark. The Cardinals then closed it out with three goals for the final score.
The Buccaneers will look to turn things back around with a pair of weekend games, playing a Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference game at North Central College on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. before hosting Albion College in a non-conference game on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
