December 3, 2013 at 9:18 pm

Alex HadeBeloit, WI -- The Beloit College Men's Basketball team kept the pace early but UW-Whitewater got rolling and never looked back in a 93-62 loss at Flood Arena on Tuesday night.

The Warhawks are ranked fourth in the D3Hoops Top 25 poll.

The Buccaneers led by as much as 6-2 in the opening minutes before UWW broke away from a 9-9 tie four-plus minutes in with a 22-7 run over the next eight minutes to lead 31-16 with 7:35 left.  The deficit stayed in double figures the rest of the half, with Whitewater leading 42-26 at the break.

A quick five-point run to open the second half pushed the lead to 49-26 and Beloit never got closer than 19 the rest of the way.  Beloit pulled to within 20 at 64-44 midway through the half but a 14-4 Warhawk run made it a 78-48 game with six-plus minutes left.  The largest lead was 33 at 91-58 with 1:13 left as both teams cleared their benches.

Steve McAfee led Beloit with 13 points while James Lazarcik had a double-double with ten points and ten rebounds.  Sean Fancsali also had ten points, a career high.

The Buccaneers get back into Midwest Conference play this weekend at Monmouth College on Saturday.  Tipoff is at 1:00 p.m.
