Milwaukee, WI -- The Beloit College Volleyball team made their final road trip of the 2013 season a happy one with a 3-0 sweep of Mount Mary College on Tuesday night.
The Bucs won the match in dominating form, 25-14, 25-10, 25-12.
In the opening set Beloit won ten of the first 15 points and never looked back. Their lead hit 11 points at 24-13 before they closed it out. In set two another dominating start - scoring ten of the first 12 points - decided the match early. The final score was the largest advantage of the set. In the final set the Buccaneers turned an early 3-3 score into an 18-7 lead with a 15-4 burst before coasting in for the match victory.
Molly Schulting paced the attack with 15 kills and a .565 attack percentage, which paved the way for a .325 attack percentage as a team, a season high. Bethany Stavrakas added eight kills on ten attacks (.800) and Taylor Lewis had seven. Carolyn Stransky made 27 set assists while Cheyenne Moffatt contributed nine.
Beloit had 14 service aces, giving them 30 in two matches against MMC. Julianne Gruenhagen led the way with five while Stavrakas had three. Gruenhagen also had 11 digs and Stavrakas ten.
The Buccaneers close out their season this weekend with a pair of Midwest Conference matches in Flood Arena, hosting Ripon College for Senior Night at 7:00 p.m. Friday and Lake Forest College at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.
