Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Women's Lacrosse team finished up their inaugural season on Saturday at Strong Stadium in a 19-2 loss to Carthage College.
The Buccaneers finished 4-7 overall, 2-6 in the Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference.
The Lady Reds took control right from the start, scoring the first ten goals of the game before Sara Fithian got Beloit on the board with 12:01 left in the opening half on a free position score. CC then scored twice more to lead 12-1 at the break.
Carthage opened the second half with five unanswered goals to move up by a 17-1 score. Sarah Pipal put a stop to the string, assisted by Erin Chambers, with 9:40 remaining. The Lady Reds closed out the scoring with goals at the 8:13 and 3:40 marks.
Michelle Dillon made four saves in goal for the Bucs.
Chambers and Ellie Daniels, the only two seniors on the first-year squad, closed out their short but important careers in the game.
