Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Baseball team swept Lawrence University 7-3 and 5-0 on Sunday at The Ballpark at Strong Stadium to complete a four-game sweep in the Midwest Conference-opening series.

The Bucs came from behind in the game one win.  Playing as the visiting team for both games because of Lawrence's unplayable field, Beloit jumped on top in the opening inning when Grant Henricksen launched his second home run over the left field wall.  They made it 2-0 in the fourth with Alex Lawrence scoring unearned on Tyler Peacock's bloop single.  But the Vikings cut the lead in half in the fourth with an unearned run and then scored two in the fifth to take a 3-2 lead.

Lawrence held that narrow lead until the top of the ninth.  Pinch-hitter Adrian Peil singled in Andrew Edwards to tie it at 3-all before Sean Little laid down a perfect bunt single to plate pinch-runner Joey Casa with the lead run.  Jerrick Habecker's sacrifice fly to left made it a two-run cushion and then Henricksen drove in two with a single to left to put the icing on the cake.  Henricksen then struck out two of the three he faced in the bottom of nine to seal it.

Andrew Kane got the win with an inning of scoreless relief.  Peacock and Matt Meade had two hits in the game.

In the nightcap, Beloit put all the runs they'd need on the board in the second on RBI singles by Danny Corrall and Ethan Blumenthal.  They tacked on three in the seventh, two of them unearned.  Henricksen had the big hit with a two-run double.  Little drove in the third run.

Joe Loftus got the win, going 5 1/3 innings while giving up four hits and striking out one.  Patrick McKnight recorded his second save with 3 2/3 innings of work, giving up two hits while striking out four.  The win gave the Buccaneers three shutouts in the four-game series.

The Bucs play Rockford College at Road Ranger Stadium in Loves Park on Wednesday before starting an MWC series at Ripon College on Saturday.  First pitch is at 1:00 p.m.
