Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Women's Basketball team, and particularly Kandace Fox, had Senior Night in Flood Arena spoiled by Carroll University, who used a big first-half run to propel them to a 74-62 win in the home finale.

Carroll led from the opening tip but after going up by six points at 13:38 the Bucs fought back and pulled to within 19-18 at the 9:06 mark.  The Pioneers then took off on what-proved-to-be the game-changing run, a 20-4 burst over five-plus minutes that gave them a 39-22 with just under four minutes left in the half.  Beloit chipped awa a little in the final minutes and trailed 41-30 at the break.

The Buccaneers got back within 44-36 just over three minutes into the second half but a 7-0 CU run put them back up by 15 with 15:04 left and Beloit never got the deficit under double figures the rest of the way.  The largest lead was 19 at 68-49 with 6:51 remaining.  A closing 9-1 run by the Bucs got them as close as ten with 31 seconds left before Carroll hit two free throws and closed it out.

Fox, the squad's lone senior, had 23 points in her final game in Flood Arena, 19 in the first half.  She added five assists.  Lauren McNanna had ten points and six rebounds while Lana Wieseman scored nine with a team-high seven boards.

The Buccaneers close out the 2012-13 season on Saturday afternoon at nationally-ranked Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa.  Tipoff is at 1:00 p.m.
