Appleton, WI -- The Beloit College Women's Basketball team added to a big first-half lead and coasted to an 84-59 win at Lawrence University, their second straight Midwest Conference victory.
The Bucs broke the game open midway through the opening half, breaking away from an 11-11 tie at the 11:47 mark with an 18-2 run to go up 29-13 six minutes later. Beloit went to the break up 41-22.
The Buccaneers kept up the pressure in the second half, quickly pushing their lead to 20 early on. The Vikings got within 18 with 10:03 left but that was as close as they'd get. The biggest lead was 32 at 82-50 with 3:16 remaining.
Lana Wieseman led the way with 23 points while also grabbing six rebounds. Lauren McNanna had 18 and added five assists while Kandace Fox had 17 points, six rebounds and six assists. Taylor Grace Silar had five steals.
Beloit loooks to keep their momentum going on Saturday when they host Knox College. Tipoff is at 5:00 p.m. in Flood Arena.
