Buccaneer Women's Lacrosse Picked 8th in MWLC for Inaugural Season

Naperville, IL -- The Beloit College Women's Lacrosse team, getting set for their first-ever season, has been picked eighth by Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference coaches in the preseason poll, which was released on Monday.

The Bucs, under head coach Meredith Newman, were slotted ahead of fellow MWLC newcomer Benedictine University and just behind the other newcomer, Aurora University.

Augustana College, with seven first-place votes, was picked to win the league followed by Carthage College and North Central College, who both had one first-place vote.  Mt. St. Joseph College was picked fourth ahead of Concordia University of Wisconsin and Fontbonne College.

The Buccaneers will open their season on Friday, March 1, at Strong Stadium when they take on Alma College, the first of seven home match-ups this season.  Action begins at 4:30 p.m.
