Carlson Earns MWC Women's Track Performer of the Week Honors

Ripon, WI -- Felicia Carlson, a sophomore sprinter from Beloit (Memorial), got the Beloit College Track & Field season off to a great start, earning Midwest Conference Women's Track Performer of the Week honors after her performance at the Carthage College Private Schools Invite last Saturday.

In the first meet of the season, Carlson set a Beloit record in the 55m, winning the race in :07.43.  She broke the previous record of :07.58 set by Gabi Cepeda in 2007.  Carlson also won the 200m, just missing another school record with a :26.65 (.25 off the record).

The Buccaneers continue the early portion of their schedule this Saturday at the UW-Whitewater Karl Schlender Invite in Whitewater.  Action begins at 10:00 a.m.
