Galesburg, IL -- The Beloit College Men's Basketball team stayed on a roll Saturday at Knox College, taking control late for a 74-69 win, their third straight in Midwest Conference play.

Beloit jumped on top early, using an 8-0 run to take a 10-2 lead five minutes into the game.  The Prairie Fire kept chipping away but the Bucs held the lead thru to halftime, paced by James Lazarcik's 21 points.  They led 40-34 at the break.

The Buccaneers still led 51-43 four minutes into the second half before KC went on a 12-2 run to take a 55-53 lead with just over ten minutes remaining.  Knox pushed their lead as high as six but a 7-4 Beloit run put them back on top 60-59.  The score was tied at 65-all with 2:30 remaining before a Tyler Butke jumper at 1:55 gave the Bucs a lead they wouldn't give up.  Steve Dowden's steal and free throw with 31 seconds left sealed the win.

Lazarcik finished with a career-high 30 points and added 14 rebounds.  Butke had 14 points.  Beloit got 20 points off nine Knox turnovers and shot 51.9% (28-54) from the field, the fifth time in seven games they've been over 50%.

The Buccaneers look to stay hot on Tuesday night when they host Lake Forest College in Flood Arena.  Gametime is at 7:30 p.m.
