Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Women's Basketball team struggled with turnovers on Saturday afternoon in Flood Arena, leading to a 77-62 loss to Concordia University Wisconsin.
The Buccaneers had 28 miscues for the game, 18 in the opening half to CUW's four.
The Falcons broke away from a 23-all tie with 3:09 left before halftime, outscoring Beloit 12-6 to close the half and lead 35-29 at the break. After Concordia built their lead to ten just over two minutes into the second half the Bucs put together a 9-2 run over the next four minutes to pull within three at 45-42 on Claire Bush's jumper. But that was as close as they'd get when the Falcons answered with a 12-2 run of their own to move up 57-44 with 11:28 remaining. The largest deficit was 17 at 70-53 with 5:48 left.
Lana Wieseman led Beloit with a double-double, scoring 21 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Lauren McNanna and Kandace Fox both added 12 points and Bush eight.
The Bucs look to regroup quickly with nationally-ranked Carthage College coming to Flood Arena on Tuesday night. Tipoff is at 5:00 p.m.
