Waukegan, IL -- The Beloit College Men's Soccer team couldn't come all the way back from a two-goal first-half deficit and saw their 2012 season come to an end in a 2-1 loss to Carroll University in the Midwest Conference Tournament Semifinals on Friday afternoon.
The Pioneers jumped on top nine minutes into the match and added a second goal at 21:54 to lead 2-0 at the break. The Buccaneers cut the deficit in half just over five minutes into the second half on Isaiah Turner-Wyatt's second goal of the season off an assist from Marc Robinson.
But that was as close as Beloit would get. Despite several good shots the Bucs couldn't convert the equalizer. Carroll had 15 shots to Beloit's 13 with both getting six shots on net. BJ Kiser made four saves for the Buccaneers.
Carroll advanced to play host Lake Forest College, a 1-0 winner over Grinnell College in the other semifinal, in the Tournament Championship match on Saturday.
