Jacksonville, IL -- The Beloit College Women's Soccer team did their best to erase a two-goal deficit but fell short in a 3-2 loss at Illinois College on Saturday.
IC scored at 12:43 and 35:38 to lead 2-0 at the break. Caitlin Paterson cut the deficit in half at the 62:50 mark on a penalty kick but the Lady Blues pushed their lead back up to two goals three minutes later. Paterson scored her second goal of the match at 69:45, assisted by Kirsten Takaki, but that was as close as they'd get as Illinois College held on in the final 20 minutes.
The Bucs stay on the road for a Sunday Midwest Conference game at Knox College in Galesburg. Kickoff is at 11:00 a.m.
