Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Women's Tennis team closed the home portion of their schedule over the weekend by winning two of three matches.
Saturday the Bucs topped Ripon College and Knox College before falling to UW-Stout in a close match on Sunday.
Beloit defeated Ripon 7-2 in their first match of the weekend Saturday morning, taking two of the three Doubles points and five of the six Singles points. In their second match Saturday afternoon they nipped Knox 5-4. The Buccaneers took two of the three Doubles points and then got wins by Trina Capelli (#1), Libby Storrick (#3) and Emma Beck (#4) in Singles to secure the match victory.
On Sunday UW-Stout came from behind to take a 5-4 win in the home finale. Beloit won at #1 (Capelli/Storrick) and #2 (Maria Mears/Beck) Doubles but the Blue Devils took four of the six Singles points for the win. Capelli (#1) and Storrick (#3) posted the Singles wins for the Buccaneers.
Lone senior Beck played her final home matches for the Buccaneers.
Beloit has a week off before closing out the regular season next Saturday at Grinnell College. They play the host Pioneers at 9:00 a.m. and Cornell College at noon.
