Ripon, WI -- The end result was the same for the second day in a row as the Beloit College Baseball team split a doubleheader at Ripon College on Monday, winning game one 5-2 before falling in game two 6-0.  The teams also split their four-game Midwest Conference series with two wins apiece.

In the game one win, Andrew Edwards threw eight innings for the win and Aaron Bushur finished up for his third save as Beloit led throughout.

Mike Kovach got the Buccaneers on the board in the second with a run-scoring single, plating Drew Oswald.

Beloit broke things open with three in the fourth.  Kovach had an RBI single while the other two runs scored unearned.  They made it 5-0 in the sixth on a Jake Tresemer RBI single, scoring Kovach.

Ripon closed the scoring with single runs in the eighth and ninth before Bushur shut things down.

Oswald had three hits in the game while Tresemer, Kovach and Evan Mascitti each had two.

In game two the Buccaneers got just four hits while the Red Hawks scored twice in the first, fourth and sixth to get the split.

The Bucs step away from MWC play on Wednesday night with a single game against Rockford College at Road Ranger Stadium in Loves Park.  First pitch is at 7:00 p.m.  They then host Carroll University for the first two of a four-game series on Friday at The Ballpark at Strong Stadium.
